Q: What is the difference between physical therapy and the wellness program?
A: Physical therapy is rehabilitation, the process of physical recovery on part of your body usually after an injury or some medical procedure. “Hands-on treatment” is required.
The wellness program is designed to enhance one's overall and sometimes specific physical fitness and is usually not a result of injury or surgery. No “hands on treatment” will be administered. Many times a patient will transition from physical therapy into the wellness program
Q: What should I do before starting the wellness program?
A: An examination by your family doctor is always an excellent idea to ensure that you are physically able to handle the required exercises.
